Tips
- Scan in good light with the whole list in the picture. Two columns side by side work fine.
- Pasting? Write one word per line as “word – meaning”. A colon or a tab works too.
- A yellow card means Terpe isn’t sure it read a word right. Tap it to fix it.
- From Quizlet: export the set with a tab between term and definition and a new line between cards, then open the file in Terpe.
- Learn shows today’s cards. Nothing due? “Extra practice” gives you the ones coming up next.
- Decks not showing up on your other device? Check that you’re signed in to the same iCloud on both and that “Sync with iCloud” is on in Terpe’s Settings.
Questions
Does Terpe work with any page?
No, on purpose. Terpe makes cards from vocabulary lists, glossaries and fact boxes: text that already is cards. It doesn’t invent questions from ordinary pages. You can always write cards yourself.
Which languages can my cards be in?
Any language your iPhone can read, from Danish, German and Spanish to Japanese and Korean. Terpe reads each side aloud in its own language.
How does Learn decide what to practise?
Learn uses FSRS, a modern spaced repetition method: a card comes back just before you’re likely to forget it. New cards start as multiple choice; once they stick, you type the answer.
Can I bring my sets from Quizlet or Anki?
Yes. Export the set as text (a tab between term and definition) or as CSV and open the file in Terpe, or paste the text.
Does Terpe need the internet or an account?
No. Everything, including reading the photo, happens on your device, and there’s no account. With iCloud sync on, your decks travel between your devices through your own iCloud; you can turn it off in Settings.
Does Terpe work on iPad, and do my decks sync?
Yes. Terpe runs on iPhone and iPad, and your decks and progress sync between them through your own iCloud. Peter never sees them.
